Installing the Amazon App Store on your Android device
The Amazon Appstore is an app store developed for the Android operating system and is operated by Amazon.com. Launched in 2011, it is available in nearly 200 countries.
The Amazon Appstore is the preferred way to download Amazon specific applications such as Amazon Instant Video and the Amazon shopping app.
As the app is managed by Amazon and not Google, payments are made through the Amazon account linked to your device.
To install the Amazon App Store onto your Android device, please follow the instructions below:
Step 1
Confirm that your device allows the installation of apps from Unknown Sources.
To confirm this, please follow the steps below:
Open Settings and navigate to Unknown Sources.
Note: Depending on your device, this setting could either be under Applications or Security.
If Unknown Sources is already checked, please leave it be and continue with Step 2.
If Unknown Sources is not already checked, please tap on the check box and then confirm the selection on the pop up box.
Step 2
Download the Amazon App Store application.
From the settings screen, go back to your Home screen by pressing the Home Button.
Next, open your preferred web browser and enter the following address:
https://www.amazon.com/getandroidapp/

Installing the Amazon App Store.
Once the download is complete, please pull down the notification bar and tap on the downloaded file.
The file name should be AmazonApps-release.apk
Tap Install.
Tap Open.
Sign in with your Amazon account and you'll instantly gain access to the thousands of apps offered by the Amazon App Store.
